Our Reviews

Take a look at what our guests say...

I’d love to share with you some of the wonderful reviews our guests have said about their stays at Tyddyn Sydney Bach. It makes me so happy to read each review and see how much our little cottage has been a part of so many special memories.

Many of our guest reviews mention how Tyddyn Sydney Bach is a cosy and relaxing haven, perfect for a peaceful holiday for two. William and I always aim to keep the cottage spotlessly clean and well-equipped, so it feels like a home away from home. And, of course, the lovely garden adds to the charm!

Our location here near Bangor, just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Menai Strait, is something many of our guests appreciate. Guest reviews reveal that our guests love being close to the mountains, the sea, and all the historical sites that North Wales and Anglesey have to offer. It's always a pleasure to suggest places to visit and dine – there's so much to explore around here!

What truly warms my heart is when guests come back to visit us again. Some even call Tyddyn Sydney Bach their 'happy place', which is the most wonderful compliment. It feels like welcoming old friends each time they return.

Our reviews shown below are a treasure trove of kind words and memories. From couples celebrating anniversaries to those simply seeking a tranquil getaway, each message is a reminder of the special moments shared here.

I hope this gives you a little glimpse into the experiences that await at Tyddyn Sydney Bach. William and I would be delighted to welcome you and help create lasting memories for you too.

Best wishes,

Les

“A wonderful cottage in a great location”

On arrival we were greeted by Les who showed us around the cottage and explained how thing worked, the cottage was very clean and comfortable, it has everything one may need including a comprehensive information pack on things to do and places to visit. To sit out in the lovely garden of an evening was a nice way to wind down after a busy day.The location is ideal for exploring both Anglesey and Snowdonia . Bangor which is just a few minutes away is not only a nice place to visit with it's Cathedral and pier but has some good places to eat. If you make the time to walk down the lane you will be rewarded with a wonderful view of both the Menai Strait and the Britannia Bridge, don't forget your camera. May 2011

“immaculate, a lovely base to visit wales and anglesey from”

The cottage is tastefully decorated and situated quite close to the owners home. Set in a lovely garden with a pretty pond.
There was nothing we could want for everything you need is provided. There were extra touches such as barabryth and a bottle of wine on the table with a welcome pack of tea and milk ect. A lovely welcome when youve been in the car for a few hours. We travelled from Oldham.
The cottage is situated very close to Anglesey and the Britannia bridge is within walking distance.
We had a lovely break here. In the evening we sat outside witha glass of wine and enjoyed our own company. Although you are quite close to the owners, they respect your privacy and unless we sought them out we didnt really see them. November 2011

“Fantastic cosy cottage in excellent location.”

Stayed for a week in July 2011, using the cottage as a base to explore Snowdonia and the surrounding areas. The booking process was painless, the cottage easy to find, and the welcome warm.

If there are two of you, it's the perfect size and well equipped. There is a very comfortable bed, armchairs and a nice dining area in the spotless kitchen. The bathroom was also spotless.

The owners live a short walk away up the garden but never make you feel crowded out, the cottage could easily be in the middle of nowhere. That said, if you need any help, the owners were always obliging and very knowledgeable.

There are great road links to all of the local attractions. We had a lot of fun touring around the mountains in the car and visiting castles and National Trust places. There are some nice places to eat nearby but if you want to make use of the well equipped kitchen, there's an enormous Tesco a short drive away for self catering supplies.

We would definitely recommend this cottage to any couple considering a trip to the area and would find it hard to believe that there is anywhere better nearby. July 2011

“Beautiful & immaculate cottage in a great location”

We were greeted on arrival by the owner who was friendly and showed us around the cottage without being too intrusive. The bara brith and fresh flowers were also a lovely touch to welcome us.

The cottage itself was beautiful and clean as well as having everything we could possibly need.

I am from North Wales originally so already had a plan as to what to do for the weekend but there was plenty of information of the highlights for those that needed it. The cottage is in a brilliant location to explore Snowdonia and Anglesey & we would definitely stay again. Thank you very much! November 2011

“The perfect location for a romantic getaway”

My girlfriend and I chose this property in order to get away for a week. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the owner who kindly gave us a tour of the house and an overview of how everything worked. She could not have been friendlier and was always available to answer any queries we had.

The cottage itself was absolutely immaculate in every possible way. Warm, cosy, with beautiful high ceilings, and fitted out with everything we could ever need. The pictures really do not do this property justice. It was simply perfect.

Bangor itself is easily accessible by car or by a (very) regular bus service. The surrounding countryside is stunning and holds a plethora of various sights and attractions, a vast selection of which were advertised in the handy welcome folder in the cottage.

I cannot recommend this property enough, and would certainly hope to return in the near future. October 2011

Very Comfortable and Thoughtfully Appointed Cottage

Very comfortable and thoughtfully appointed cottage in a lovely setting.  Despite the weather, we have had a great week exploring an area we have never got to before.  Bodnant Garden was the highlight - it didn't rain until the evening!  Big bath rowels - Hurrah!

What an Amazing Wee Nook!

Les welcomed us early Saturday afternoon and proceeded to give us the most usefully comprehensive introductory show-around of Tyddyn Sydney Bach.  Within an hour of arrival we were graced with the welcome of a pheasant and a jay.  In the days since we've heard song thrush, siskins, blackcap and all the usual feathered thugs of the garden.  During our stay we've visited Menai Strait, Isle of Anglesey  (a red squirrel stronghold), Llandudno, Portmeirion and Bethesda (for ZipWorld Velocity!).  Only one day was shortened due to it dinging-it-doon (raining)  but we managed to complete the dune walk near Newborough  to Llanddwyn beach (Anglesey) with our getting soaked.  Thanks for your hospitality and enjoy Summer 2024!

Gem of a Cottage Set in Beautiful Grounds

Tyddyn Sydney Bach is a gem of a cottage set in beautiful grounds.  Les is a first class host, always available when needed - thank you.  Clean and comfortable, we look forward to returning.  Hopefully to explore the gardens in better weather and visit more of the wonderful area.  Ticked off walk at Aber Falls, Penrhyn Castle, Plas Mawr at Conwy, Bodnant Gardens, spectacular end of October and Plas Newydd.

Lovely Cottage and Beautiful Gardens

A lovely cottage and a very warm welcome.  The flowers and Welsh cakes were much appreciated as were the tea, coffee etc.  Lovely Spot and beautiful gardens, and not too far from anything.  Thank you!
