Our Reviews

Take a look at what our guests say...

I’d love to share with you some of the wonderful reviews our guests have said about their stays at Tyddyn Sydney Bach. It makes me so happy to read each review and see how much our little cottage has been a part of so many special memories.

Many of our guest reviews mention how Tyddyn Sydney Bach is a cosy and relaxing haven, perfect for a peaceful holiday for two. William and I always aim to keep the cottage spotlessly clean and well-equipped, so it feels like a home away from home. And, of course, the lovely garden adds to the charm!

Our location here near Bangor, just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Menai Strait, is something many of our guests appreciate. Guest reviews reveal that our guests love being close to the mountains, the sea, and all the historical sites that North Wales and Anglesey have to offer. It's always a pleasure to suggest places to visit and dine – there's so much to explore around here!

What truly warms my heart is when guests come back to visit us again. Some even call Tyddyn Sydney Bach their 'happy place', which is the most wonderful compliment. It feels like welcoming old friends each time they return.

Our reviews shown below are a treasure trove of kind words and memories. From couples celebrating anniversaries to those simply seeking a tranquil getaway, each message is a reminder of the special moments shared here.

I hope this gives you a little glimpse into the experiences that await at Tyddyn Sydney Bach. William and I would be delighted to welcome you and help create lasting memories for you too.

Best wishes,

Les

Hi-Spec/Hi-Tech Cottage situated in Beautiful Established Grounds

We arrived a little early (3pm arrival) but Les welcomed us into the accommodation and gave a thorough introduction to where everything was and how it all worked. We quickly got settled (thanks for the Welsh cakes, gorgeous roses, tea, coffee, milk, etc!) This thoughtfully appointed hi-spec/hi-tech cottage is situated in beautiful established grounds - a real nature haven! We couldn't have asked for a more perfectly situated homely base for our week's holiday in North Wales and Anglesey. Although the weather was pretty good for the whole week we'd love to come back in summer to experience this wonderful part of the world again! Thanks Les for your hospitality, care and attention of this wee holiday sanctuary. Enjoy Summer 2024!

Perfect Stay!

The cottage is beautifully presented, immaculately clean and well appointed. Set in a lovely secluded garden area. Attentive host, Les was very thoughtful and considerate throughout our stay. We were visiting our daughter who is studying at Bangor University and the cottage is conveniently located for the town centre as well as a great location for exploring the wider North Wales area and Anglesey. Thank you for a perfect stay, we hope to return!

Delightful Cottage Perfect Base for Exploring

This delightful cottage was the perfect base for hiking and paddleboarding, both on Anglesey, and also in Snowdonia. The cottage itself was larger than we expected, tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean. It is set in the beautiful grounds of the house, however it feels cleverly secluded with its own private patio area. Les was welcoming and a great source of local knowledge - thank you. We enjoyed the welcome treats and fresh flowers too. We always looked forward to returning to Tyddyn Sydney Bach after a long day's hike. We would thoroughly recommend this cosy cottage.

Lovely Bungalow for Two!

We have just returned from a week's holiday at Tyddyn Sydney Bach, you drive up the lane and the gate opens to a wonderful garden and Tyddyn Sydney Bach. A lovely bungalow for two with everything you could ask for set in the gardens. Les and William were perfect hosts, and the situation is ideal for exploring Anglesey and North Wales.

A Beautifully Appointed Cottage

A beautifully appointed cottage, where Les' attention to detail made me feel completely safe in respect of the Coronavirus pandemic. Thanks also to Les for the Welsh cakes and roses on my arrival - and to William for his tidbits of information on local history and the weather. I have had a lovely week. N.B. The lighting in the cottage is the best I have experienced in a holiday let which, as an avid reader, I have much appreciated.

Yet Another Great Holiday

Many thanks to Les and William for the welcoming pack and their friendliness and advice throughout the week - it really makes you feel welcome and 'at home'. The recent addition of the bedroom extension is brilliant - so spacious and comfortable - to sit by the patio doors in the morning sunlight is a delight. Full credit to you both for turning a little gem of a cottage into a real diamond, especially during a difficult last 6 months. We hope to return next year if conditions locally and nationally allow.

Wonderful Holiday

The booking for this wonderful holiday kept us going, with keen anticipation, during the weeks and months of Covid lock-down; and thankfully most of our expectations have been fulfilled. We enjoyed walking to both bridges, starting up the lane here, and there is a leaflet all about it in the folder. The (closed) Telford Centre will just have to wait for another time, Thank you, Les and William, for all your preparation and a lovely welcome. The new double bedroom is superb. We agree with all the plaudits in this Guest Book, richly deserved, so here are some pointers for other visitors:-

Shops: Tesco ‘Click and Collect’ was specially useful to start off with a full larder. One Stop Shop on the road to the hospital sells daily provisions and has been very helpful in keeping us a newspaper each day. The Garden Centre on main road into Bangor sells nearly everything you can think of. The Dock Shack fish shop in Beaumaris has lovely fresh fish including mussels, plus fish and chips. Torna a Surriento in the middle of Bangor (202 High Street) produced an excellent Italian take-away to order (see internet).
Lastly, favourite beaches: 1. Porth Sur next along from Rhosneigr 2. Llandona beach at Wast end of Red Wharf Bay 3. Newborough Warren
Stay Safe - and have a lovely time.

Love the Bedroom Addition to the Cottage!

We love the bedroom addition to the cottage. We have stayed here many times and found the cottage scrupulously clean and comfortable and Les is a charming host. We like to eat in the Freckled Angel, Menai Bridge. It is different. Les, thank you for the generous gifts of wine, Welsh cakes, flowers etc. Most enjoyable. See you next year!
