Our Reviews

Take a look at what our guests say...

I’d love to share with you some of the wonderful reviews our guests have said about their stays at Tyddyn Sydney Bach. It makes me so happy to read each review and see how much our little cottage has been a part of so many special memories.

Many of our guest reviews mention how Tyddyn Sydney Bach is a cosy and relaxing haven, perfect for a peaceful holiday for two. William and I always aim to keep the cottage spotlessly clean and well-equipped, so it feels like a home away from home. And, of course, the lovely garden adds to the charm!

Our location here near Bangor, just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Menai Strait, is something many of our guests appreciate. Guest reviews reveal that our guests love being close to the mountains, the sea, and all the historical sites that North Wales and Anglesey have to offer. It's always a pleasure to suggest places to visit and dine – there's so much to explore around here!

What truly warms my heart is when guests come back to visit us again. Some even call Tyddyn Sydney Bach their 'happy place', which is the most wonderful compliment. It feels like welcoming old friends each time they return.

Our reviews shown below are a treasure trove of kind words and memories. From couples celebrating anniversaries to those simply seeking a tranquil getaway, each message is a reminder of the special moments shared here.

I hope this gives you a little glimpse into the experiences that await at Tyddyn Sydney Bach. William and I would be delighted to welcome you and help create lasting memories for you too.

Best wishes,

Les

“Lovely stay with all conveniences and very kind owners.”

We stayed in this luxurious cottage for one week. It's a perfect position to explore North Wales. The cottage is situated in a beautiful garden. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They welcomed us with cake and flowers. We accidentally left an evelope with euros. The owners took much trouble to pay back the money. They also took time to tell us about the surroundings. They are really nice. Thanks! July 2015

“Very cosy also in winter”

Exactly as in the photographs, everything is spick and span, achieving the highest possible standard. The setting is very private, with a secluded view of a garden and pond. The radiators, towel warmer and under floor heating ensure a very comfortable environment even in rainy or snowy weather. Les takes extra care to see that the cottage has everything you may need, and is often nearby for a chat if you like, or leaves you be if that is what you prefer. Highly recommended. December 2014

“We felt very much at home.”

It was a very nice and well-equipped cottage. The owner did everything to make us feel welcome. The surroundings are very pleasant and we had a lovely stay. August 2014

“WOW ! Lovely cottage in a wonderful area !”

Wales is so beautiful, and to stay in Tyddyn Sydney Bach made our holiday complete. It's a fantastic place from where you can start your outdoor activities. Complete, clean, very friendly and helpfull hosts (Les and William). It was our last week from three weeks in Wales, but we needed more time to spend here. After our activities it was good to be back in Tyddyn Sydney Bach. Comfortable and cosy, well-furnished, enough space for 2 persons. What can we say more...you have to check it out for yourself and won't be dissapointed. August 2014

“Immaculate accomodation and friendly hosts”

Tyddyn Sydney Bach is a beautifully appointed and tastefully furnished hide-away for two. The hosts, Les and William Day couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The furnishings are delightfully well co-ordinated and great care has been taken with the presentation of the property. It is immaculately clean and a perfect location for exploring many of the attractions of North Wales. Although bijou, everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay is provided and privacy is ensured in the lovely grounds by screens of jasmine and honeysuckle. A restful and peaceful spot to holiday. Highly recommended. June 2014

Gem of a Cottage Set in Beautiful Grounds

Tyddyn Sydney Bach is a gem of a cottage set in beautiful grounds.  Les is a first class host, always available when needed - thank you.  Clean and comfortable, we look forward to returning.  Hopefully to explore the gardens in better weather and visit more of the wonderful area.  Ticked off walk at Aber Falls, Penrhyn Castle, Plas Mawr at Conwy, Bodnant Gardens, spectacular end of October and Plas Newydd.

An Absolutely Lovely Cottage!

An absolutely lovely cottage, exactly as described, with everything provided.  Thank you for the very warm welcome and the lovely flowers and Welsh cakes.  Also for the little extras of the tea, coffee, sugar, milk  etc to get us started.  A perfect retreat, we have had a really great week!

Beautiful Gardens and Comfortable Bungalow

A lovely stay with Les and William, a beautiful relaxing time.  You drive up the lane and it opens up to beautiful gardens and the bungalow, made very welcome by Les and William.  The bungalow has everything you need, and so comfortable.  This was ideal for us.  We will be back and do all the things the area around offers.  Thank you so much.

Superbly Situated Cottage

We have enjoyed a thoroughly fantastic week, despite some mixed weather.  The cottage is superbly situated for visiting Anglesey as well as Snowdonia, so we could do what we love best - walking and paddle-boarding.  Also a trip into the past with a visit to Portmeirion (haven't been there since a child).  Above all, the cottage was a lovely surprise; so well equipped and larger than we expected.  Love all the little touches; flowers, Welsh cakes, toiletries and actual sharp knives!  Les and William were so welcoming and a font of local knowledge.  Thank you.
