Our Reviews

Take a look at what our guests say...

I’d love to share with you some of the wonderful reviews our guests have said about their stays at Tyddyn Sydney Bach. It makes me so happy to read each review and see how much our little cottage has been a part of so many special memories.

Many of our guest reviews mention how Tyddyn Sydney Bach is a cosy and relaxing haven, perfect for a peaceful holiday for two. William and I always aim to keep the cottage spotlessly clean and well-equipped, so it feels like a home away from home. And, of course, the lovely garden adds to the charm!

Our location here near Bangor, just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Menai Strait, is something many of our guests appreciate. Guest reviews reveal that our guests love being close to the mountains, the sea, and all the historical sites that North Wales and Anglesey have to offer. It's always a pleasure to suggest places to visit and dine – there's so much to explore around here!

What truly warms my heart is when guests come back to visit us again. Some even call Tyddyn Sydney Bach their 'happy place', which is the most wonderful compliment. It feels like welcoming old friends each time they return.

Our reviews shown below are a treasure trove of kind words and memories. From couples celebrating anniversaries to those simply seeking a tranquil getaway, each message is a reminder of the special moments shared here.

I hope this gives you a little glimpse into the experiences that await at Tyddyn Sydney Bach. William and I would be delighted to welcome you and help create lasting memories for you too.

Best wishes,

Les

“Excellent”

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Les and William made us very welcome, with lovely flowers and homemade cake. The cottage homely and comfy, everything there what is needed, lovely and private as well. The cleanliness of the cottage 100%, and Les and William there if needed, Gardens well maintained, and relaxing to sit outside the cottage having a cup of tea or coffee. May 2016

“Recommend you stay.”

Stayed on my own for 3 months (February to end of April) at Tyddyn Sydney Bach and was really made to feel at home. Hosts Les and William couldn't do enough for you and are always on hand to resolve any issues you may have. The cottage has a great location for Bangor and for exploring North Wales, it is in a lovely setting and is equipped with everything you could possibly need, would definitely recommend and would stay again. Warm, Cosy, Lovely and Very, Very Nice!

I stayed at Tyddyn Sydney Bach in 2014 and Les and William made it feel like home, they are the nicest landlords I have ever met. Their kindness and hospitality is beyond this world – not only because I was welcomed with a home made bara brith which was delicious. I would recommend the cottage to anyone who travels solo or couples who wish for a romantic, cosy stay in Wales. The interior is really nice, clean and was furnished and arranged very nicely. You will find anything you need and more (like e.g. warm, fluffy towels – to mention one detail). I hope that I will be able to go back soon.

“Wow!! Perfect in every way.”

I stayed at Tyddyn Sydney Bach while studying at Bangor University and loved every moment.

I had a very warm welcome, which included flowers and a home-baked cake, and I was immediately struck by the quality and comfort of the cottage.

Tyddyn Sydney Bach is situated in a peaceful and idyllic garden and was equipped with everything I needed. The local area is definitely worth exploring too.

Les and William were very friendly and supportive but also gave me plenty of privacy when needed.

I have recommended the cottage to a friend and she will be staying there during her course but I don’t mind admitting I am more than a little jealous! I would love to have the opportunity to return. Highly recommended.

“Super cottage, well equipped, very clean, very friendly owner.”

We have stayed at many holiday cottages but this one comes out tops. It is the only one we have returned to and this was our third visit. A lovely location, easy transport links to mountains, beaches and city, very well and tastefully appointed, spotlessly clean and a very friendly owner. We'll be back!

Gem of a Cottage Set in Beautiful Grounds

Tyddyn Sydney Bach is a gem of a cottage set in beautiful grounds.  Les is a first class host, always available when needed - thank you.  Clean and comfortable, we look forward to returning.  Hopefully to explore the gardens in better weather and visit more of the wonderful area.  Ticked off walk at Aber Falls, Penrhyn Castle, Plas Mawr at Conwy, Bodnant Gardens, spectacular end of October and Plas Newydd.

Lovely Cottage and Beautiful Gardens

A lovely cottage and a very warm welcome.  The flowers and Welsh cakes were much appreciated as were the tea, coffee etc.  Lovely Spot and beautiful gardens, and not too far from anything.  Thank you!

An Absolutely Lovely Cottage!

An absolutely lovely cottage, exactly as described, with everything provided.  Thank you for the very warm welcome and the lovely flowers and Welsh cakes.  Also for the little extras of the tea, coffee, sugar, milk  etc to get us started.  A perfect retreat, we have had a really great week!

Beautiful Gardens and Comfortable Bungalow

A lovely stay with Les and William, a beautiful relaxing time.  You drive up the lane and it opens up to beautiful gardens and the bungalow, made very welcome by Les and William.  The bungalow has everything you need, and so comfortable.  This was ideal for us.  We will be back and do all the things the area around offers.  Thank you so much.

Superbly Situated Cottage

We have enjoyed a thoroughly fantastic week, despite some mixed weather.  The cottage is superbly situated for visiting Anglesey as well as Snowdonia, so we could do what we love best - walking and paddle-boarding.  Also a trip into the past with a visit to Portmeirion (haven't been there since a child).  Above all, the cottage was a lovely surprise; so well equipped and larger than we expected.  Love all the little touches; flowers, Welsh cakes, toiletries and actual sharp knives!  Les and William were so welcoming and a font of local knowledge.  Thank you.
