BishopsGate House Restaurant Review

When my husband, William, and I want to celebrate we go to The Bishopsgate House Restaurant in Beaumaris, an elegant AA Rosette awarded restaurant, where the meals are freshly prepared by their Chefs. The menu is a mixture of traditional and Welsh fare relying on good local produce, wherever possible including fresh local Fish, succulent Welsh Lamb, Welsh Beef and Gressingham Duck.

We went to celebrate our 17th anniversary earlier this year and had a wonderful dinner. The restaurant is small but there is a choice of two rooms one in the bar with a real fire or a lounge with a gas fire where you can sip a sherry whilst choosing your meal from a de-licious menu – either Encarte or Set Price, both are good value for money, and retire to for coffee and mints after your dinner.

My starter as you can see in the photo is a fish starter – Smoked Salmon, Crabmeat, Prawns and Smoked Mackerel Mousse, served with a Lemon Mayonnaise Dressing. My main course was Pork Tenderloin Diane – Pan Roasted Fillet of Pork with a Wild Mush-room, French Mustard and Brandy Cream Sauce , served with Bubble and Squeak, fol-lowed by warm Crème Brulee. Wine is available by the glass or bottle.

Sunday Lunch is always a treat and becomes an occasion at Bishopsgate!
